One item; it is absolutely true that units sold at Home Depot have cast iron grates, not the bent sheetmetal grates sold with 210's everywhere else. The box storing the grates is marked "Genesis", not "Spirit". This makes a significant difference (IMHO) and is worth a trip to Home Depot. Check the units at the stores to be sure.

After reading all the glowing reviews, I decided to spend the big bucks on what appeared to be the most wonderful little grill. Since I live in Nevada and the shipping origin was Arizona, I expected it to arrive within 4 days tops. I am sad to report that my first grill arrived 5 days later than their projected date (it took 10 days) and upon opening the box, I immediately saw a crack completely through the fire bowl in the lower right bottom (as you look at it)just as Bob P. in July, 2009, reported. Dismayed, I contacted Amazon, explained why FedEx does not work as a shipper where I live (middle of Nevada desert), requested UPS or USPS instead, and was emailed a shipping label to return the grill. Amazon stated they would ship out a replacement grill immediately.

I was delighted to have grill #2 arrive sooner than expected (3 days) and have it delivered by UPS. Delight turned to dismay again as I saw yet another crack in exactly the same place as the previous grill. Again, I contacted Amazon and sent them a photo showing exactly where and what the crack looked like. I was emailed a label, and made the 90 mile trek to the post office to get the grill back in the mail. I had indicated to Amazon that I was up for giving it one more try; if the third grill arrived damaged, I would be ready for a refund.

Shortly after I sent that email, Amazon contacted me and stated that since I had received two damaged grills, they would refund my cost since it was likely another grill would arrive damaged. Perhaps they opened a few boxes and examined the grills? Maybe the shipment they received from Lodge was all defective? I don't know.

What I can tell you is that I decided to take another leap and order the exact same grill from Ace Hardware. It arrived on exactly the day they projected, cost $20.00 less, and arrived from New York completely intact. So, if anyone orders this grill from Amazon (shipped from Goodyear, AZ), be sure to check it out carefully when it arrives.

This particular hose is SO difficult!! It gives a low flame most of the time (I guess from the safety switch in it). I have tried doing what other reviewers have suggested with mixed results (sometimes it would work, sometimes it would not). I called Weber, and they said they now suggest turning the gas on (on the tank, not the grill) at a steady turn, and walking away for 2 minutes before starting the grill (basically do not touch the grill until after the 2 minutes). I tried it one time and it seemed to be better, but who knows, it was only one time to test it out. I just think for this price, it should work flawlessly (at least do what it is supposed to do). The only reason for 2 stars, is because it is convenient (and so much less expensive) to use the hose with a large tank when at home. So far we've used the roaster with dark brown beer and Sangria wine. Both chickens turned out delicious with crispy outsides and moist (even the breast) insides. We cooked the birds to an internal temp of 180 degrees (at the deepest part of the thigh). The beer "roaster" was cooked at 400 (came out the crispest) and the Sangria "roaster" was cooked at 350, on a gas grill, cover down, as per the instuctions included with the product (watch those wings!). We turned the tray 180 degrees every 30 minutes until done. Our next venture is with unsweetened apple juice (made from frozen concentrate). I guess it goes without saying, we love this Camerons cooking device!
