I got two of these (one for my brother) to know for certain when to put the steaks on the BBQ. This is the slowest thermometer I have ever used. It takes forever to warm up. While you wait and wait, your charcoal is burning up and you can't really tell if the gauge is going to go up further or not. So you wait some more.
