This particular hose is SO difficult!! It gives a low flame most of the time (I guess from the safety switch in it). I have tried doing what other reviewers have suggested with mixed results (sometimes it would work, sometimes it would not). I called Weber, and they said they now suggest turning the gas on (on the tank, not the grill) at a steady turn, and walking away for 2 minutes before starting the grill (basically do not touch the grill until after the 2 minutes). I tried it one time and it seemed to be better, but who knows, it was only one time to test it out. I just think for this price, it should work flawlessly (at least do what it is supposed to do). The only reason for 2 stars, is because it is convenient (and so much less expensive) to use the hose with a large tank when at home.
